This opportunity is at the family office level which oversees and consolidates all of the investments held by PEG.

We are seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both private and public accounting and industry.  Tax experience/understanding is a plus especially as it relates to high-net-worth individuals and tax accretive structures. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting regular accounting functions, financial reporting, tax reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality deliverables and will have the ability to manage multiple projects at once. They should have the maturity to handle multi-faceted job requirements, both basic and complex. The Senior Accountant will work alongside a technically strong team that includes professionals with Big 4 accounting experience, creating a collaborative and expert environment.

The successful candidate will have a passion for accounting, a drive for accuracy and compliance, and a willingness to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is onsite at our office in San Juan Capistrano, CA.

What you get to do:

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions

  • Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in accordance with GAAP

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and other financial documents

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures for both domestic and international divisions

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and other financial documents

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures for both domestic and international divisions

  • Support external reporting requirements (audit, tax, and other), providing proper documentation and analysis

  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes    

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts

  • Assist with actual vs. budget cash flow reporting for PEG entities

  • Organize and maintain database of entity documents and support

  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes

  • Provide support in the preparation of tax documentation for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and partnerships, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed

  • Understand andAssist in implementing tax strategies related to investment income, pass-through entities, and multi-state filings

  • Assist with daily administration in office as needed, including but not limited to: covering phones while primary admin is away, welcoming clients and guests on occasion

  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary


Job requirements

  • 4+ years of accounting/finance experience

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals or family offices is strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of tax strategies and reporting requirements related to complex investment portfolios, real estate, and trusts a plus

  • Construction industry experience a plus

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or BILL a plus

  • Construction industry experience a plus

  • CPA or CPA Candidate a plus

  • Knowledge of GAAP and general tax regulations

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in financial data management

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort in spreadsheet analysis

  • Discretion and professionalism when working with confidential and sensitive financial information

  • Onsite full-time in our San Juan Capistrano office
