About the role

Pacifico Power is a startup focused on developing, constructing, owning, and managing behind-the-meter commercial energy projects, largely applying virtual net metering. The company will expand into storage, micro-grids, and community-based energy distribution as the regulations continue to loosen and allow for these alternative means of providing power. Pacifico Power is an affiliate of Pacifico Energy, a leading renewable energy company with a focus on utility-scale renewable projects in Asia. Over the last 10 years Pacifico Energy has developed over 1 GW of renewable energy projects worldwide, equating to $3.5 billion of investment.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Senior Accountant to join our team and contribute to our success in creating a greener tomorrow. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both private and public accounting, with experience in the private equity industry being a valuable asset.

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting functions, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality deliverables and will have the ability to manage multiple projects at once. They should have the maturity to handle multi-faceted job requirements, both basic and complex.

The successful candidate will have a passion for accounting, a drive for accuracy and compliance, and a willingness to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role will be onsite at our office in San Juan, Capistrano.


What you get to do:

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

  • Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures

  • Understand and apply relevant accounting standards and regulations, such as GAAP or IFRS, depending on the industry and jurisdiction

  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and other financial documents

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures for both domestic and international divisions

  • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations

  • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts

  • Assist with actual vs. budget cash flow reports for the PEG entities

  • Organize and maintain database of entity documents and support

  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes

  • Assist with daily administration in office as needed, including but not limited to: covering phones while primary admin is away, welcoming clients and guests on occasion

  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary



Job requirements

What you bring to the role:

  • 4+ years accounting/finance experience

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct or BILL a plus

  • Construction industry experience a plus

  • CPA or CPA Candidate a plus

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

  • Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in financial data management

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once

  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

  • Advanced Excel skills and complete comfort in excel and spreadsheet analysis

  • Onsite full time out of our Orange County office
