About the company

Pacifico Energy Group (“PEG”) is a family office founded by a renewable energy entrepreneur, located in Orange County. PEG’s historical primary business has been the development of solar photovoltaic power plants throughout Asia (Japan, Korea, Vietnam).

Recently, PEG has expanded its domestic business operations to include additional industries (aviation, real estate, private equity, etc.). PEG is in high growth mode, with multiple operating businesses (similar to private equity), and is looking to add a high performer to the team, reporting to our Controller. This role is based in our office in San Juan Capistrano.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both private and public accounting, with experience in the private equity industry being a valuable asset. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting various accounting functions, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for providing accurate, timely financial information to assist decision-making. The ideal candidate will produce high-quality deliverables and will have the ability to manage multiple projects at once. They should have the maturity to handle multi-faceted job requirements, both basic and complex.

What you get to do:

  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Maintain financial schedules and ledgers in compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Understand and apply relevant accounting standards and regulations, such as GAAP or IFRS, depending on the industry and jurisdiction
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and other financial documents
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures for both domestic and international divisions
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
  • Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations
  • Interface directly with international and domestic accounting firms
  • Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Assist with actual vs. budget cash flow reports for the PEG entities
  • Organize and maintain database of entity documents
  • Assist with entity formation and bank account administration
  • Maintain and update private aircraft billing schedule and interface with management company
  • Maintain real estate construction schedules and interface with vendors
  • Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes
  • Assist other accounting team members as needed across PEG entities
  • Assist with daily administration in office as needed, including but not limited to: covering phones while primary admin is away, welcoming clients and guests on occasion
  • Assist with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as necessary

Job requirements

What you bring to the role:

  • 4+ years accounting/finance experience
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online and a plus
  • Private Equity industry experience a plus
  • CPA or CPA Candidate a plus
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and IFRS
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy in financial data management
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Advanced Excel skills and complete comfort in excel and spreadsheet analysis
  • Knowledge of accounting standards in Japan, Korea, and Vietnam a plus
