Rotational A&P Lead Mechanic (Contingent Upon Contract Award)

Summary:

The A&P Lead Mechanic is responsible for the efficient execution of all items needed to ensure fleet readiness. The A&P Lead Mechanic role is a working leadership position with responsibilities including troubleshooting, modification, maintenance, and integration of aircraft and ISR mission systems while directing a team of technicians. The Lead Mechanic ensures that tasks within the scope of their normally assigned duties are performed using established standards of quality and airworthiness. 

The A&P Lead Mechanic will work only when training or on a deployment rotation supporting CONUS or OCONUS collection missions. All other times they will be on leave without pay (LWOP), unless authorized by Management. Although training will be conducted in Titusville, FL, relocation is not required for this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day execution of ISR integration and maintenance work packages from induction through return to service

• Perform and provide direct technical guidance in troubleshooting, aircraft inspections, and aircraft maintenance

• Ensure aircraft are ready for flight and in safe operating condition

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on multi-engine piston aircraft

• Conduct repairs on aircraft components, including engines, propellers, and landing gears 

• Familiar with Federal Aviation Regulations, operational procedures, and industry standards

• Regularly updates technical and aeronautical expertise through training, self-study, and operational experience

• Interpret engineering drawings, STCs, and installation packages and provide feedback to engineering on discrepancies and design improvements

• Ability to successfully interact and communicate with maintenance personnel

•  Must be able to effectively operate computer-based applications/software and aircraft maintenance tracking programs, including Microsoft Office

• Document all maintenance and repair work in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures

• Perform all maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations, and manufacturers’ technical data

• Responsible for personal and company tool accountability to include reporting unserviceable tools and equipment

• Perform serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipment

• Comply with established policies, procedures, and standards

• Comply with all safety, environmental security, and housekeeping standards

• Comply with all training requirements

• Ability to operate special purpose and regular vehicles as authorized

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required

• Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) Years’ recent experience in general aviation

• Minimum of three (3) Years’ experience in a supervisory or leadership position in a maintenance organization

• Valid driver's license required

• Read and interpret aircraft diagrams, charts, and schematics

• Ability to lift 50 pounds

• Knowledgeable and experienced using computers and aircraft software

• Must be able to successfully pass background check

• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and active-employment drug screenings

• Currently possess or able to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance, or higher

  Preferred Qualifications

• Inspection Authorization (IA)

• Airborne ISR Mission Systems experience

• Familiar with DCMA 8210 & FGOP

• Experience with Cessna 337 Skymaster

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance
