Summary

A2G currently has an opening for a Lead (LP) / Instructor Pilot (IP). The position serves as the senior line pilot responsible for aircrew leadership, standardization, training, and mission execution. While reporting to the Chief Pilot, this position ensures aircrew are qualified and mission-ready to operate in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, DCMA 8210.D requirements, and applicable government directives.

The Lead Pilot maintains Pilot-in-Command (PIC) Cessna 337G/H Skymaster qualifications while providing mentorship, conducting flight instruction, evaluating pilot proficiency, and supporting daily flight operations. As required, duties and responsibilities include the role of Liaison with US Government Flight Operations Personnel and GFR Flight Operations. The Lead Pilot will also act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO) and ensure aircraft are operated in accordance with applicable regulations, and program/corporate policies and procedures. This role supports pilot standardization, qualification, continuation training, instrument proficiency, flight scheduling, records, and day-to-day flight operations coordination.

Pilots will work only when training or on a deployment rotation supporting CONUS or OCONUS collection missions. All other times they will be on leave without pay (LWOP), unless authorized by Management. Although training will be conducted in Titusville, FL, relocation is not required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all duties and responsibilities of a qualified Cessna 337 Pilot-in-Command

• Provide leadership and day-to-day operational oversight to assigned pilots while supporting the Director of Flight Operations and company Chief Pilot function, as applicable.

• Develop, conduct, and document initial, transition, recurrent, continuation, instrument, emergency-procedure, and mission-oriented training in accordance with approved company procedures and applicable Government requirements.

• Provide flight and ground instruction and recommend pilots for qualification or additional training based on demonstrated proficiency and established standards.

• Standardize pilot techniques, procedures, checklist discipline, mission planning, crew coordination, risk management, and aircraft operating practices.

• Maintain and assist with pilot training folders, qualification records, currency tracking, flight evaluations, and other records required by the FGOP and contract.

• Support development and revision of training syllabus, lesson plans, standardization guides, operating procedures, checklists, and flight operations forms.

• Coordinate pilot schedules, training requirements, currency events, and operational coverage with Flight Operations leadership.

• Identify qualification, proficiency, staffing, and operational risks and elevate deficiencies to Flight Operations leadership.

• Interface professionally with Government representatives after contract award and support GFR qualification/evaluation requirements.

• Participate in safety reviews, operational risk management, mishap prevention, lessons learned, and corrective-action activities.

Education: Bachelor's degree with eight (8)+ years of related experience. Additional years' experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

• Two (2) or more years of experience supervising or leading teams and projects

Flight Hour & FAA Requirements:

• 2,000 hours total flight time

• 1,000 hours documented PIC time

• 300 hours PIC in a Cessna 337 or similar aircraft type

• Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate

• Current FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Airplane (CFI) and Instrument Airplane (CFII) ratings. A multiengine instructor rating (MEI) is strongly preferred and may be required based on the final approved training construct

• Current FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with Airplane Multiengine Land and Instrument Airplane ratings appropriate to the operation

General Requirements

• US Citizen

• Minimum age of 21

• Must read, write, speak and understand English

• Possess a valid passport and state driver’s license

• Currently possess an active DoD Secret clearance, or higher

• Ability to successfully meet all contractual / program training requirements

• Must be able to successfully pass background check

• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment and active-employment drug screenings

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic flight management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance

• FAA Multiengine Instructor (MEI) rating

• 2,000+ hours PIC time in a similar multi-engine, turboprop aircraft

• 200 hours of Instrument (actual) time

• Cessna 337, 336, O-2, Reims F337, or directly related Skymaster-family PIC and instructional experience

• Prior Experience as a U.S. Military Standardization Instructor Pilot, Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Pilot, DEA Pilot or US Contracting ISR Pilot

• Prior rotation experience, particularly in current area of operation
