A2G is seeking a skilled Crew Chief with experience supporting Group 3 or larger UAS platforms. The Crew Chief is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and operational readiness of unmanned aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with flight crews to prepare aircraft for missions, training exercises, and test events.
The ideal candidate brings technical expertise in systems troubleshooting, hands-on aircraft maintenance, and a commitment to safety and precision in aerospace operations.
What you get to do:
Ensure maintenance compliance with all service bulletins, engineering changes, FAA airworthiness directives, and applicable technical data.
Perform troubleshooting and repair of engine, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Support disassembly and reassembly of components during modifications or failure resolution.
Conduct inspections of aircraft parts for cleanliness and serviceability prior to use.
Fabricate and modify aerospace components per specification and engineering design.
Execute validation and verification testing of UAS components and subsystems.
Perform launch and recovery operations for unmanned aircraft systems.
Safely manage aircraft handling tasks such as towing, jacking, and pre-flight operations.
Collaborate with flight crew and engineering to prepare aircraft for missions and testing.
Accurately document all maintenance actions in aircraft logbooks.
Monitor and report on the condition and tracking of HAZMAT and mission-critical equipment.
Job requirements
Demonstrated experience serving as a UAS Crew Chief for Group 3 or larger platforms.
Current FAA Class III Medical Certificate (or ability to obtain).
Proficiency in aircraft maintenance documentation and logbook entries.
Ability to follow technical procedures and regulatory guidelines without deviation.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must have an active SECRET DoD security clearance.
Must be capable to travel OCONUS
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Group 4–5 UAS or comparable manned aircraft systems.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
Experience with Rotax engines and/or certified Rotax maintenance training.
Ability to create and document new maintenance procedures.
Experience with hazardous material handling and tracking.
