RAVN Aerospace is headquartered in Ellington Field, Texas with various operating sites around the country. We offer a wide range of aviation services to assist governments, international organizations, and private sector entities. The aviation services fall into three main categories: Air-to-Air threat replication, Close Air Support, and Test and Evaluation.
We provide on and off-site aircraft operation for a diverse customer base in all areas of the aviation and aerospace industry with operating locations around the globe. We maintain a fleet of five Embraer A-27 (Tucano) and ten BAe L-59 (Hawk) aircraft; both have repeatedly proven to be extremely reliable in all environmental conditions, and both can carry a variety of sensors and payloads.
This will be located at our contract site in San Antonio, Texas.
What you get to do:
As an A&P Mechanic in the maintenance department, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting of Airframe and Powerplant systems on the A-27 Tucano and BAe Hawk aircraft, reporting to the Maintenance Lead in the accomplishment of the following functions supporting Close Air Support flights:
Maintain the premises in a clean and organized manner.
Assemble and install electrical, avionic, mechanical, hydraulic, structural components and accessories using hand tools and power tools.
Remove and/or install aircraft components, test IAW MM, and troubleshoot aircraft systems.
Repair, replace and rebuild aircraft structures, system, and functional components.
Service, repair, troubleshoot and modify aircraft and aircraft engines.
Perform storage and shipment requirements on engines and support equipment to include documentation.
Refer to workbooks and technical publications to determine specifications to be met.
Perform assigned tasks without supervision.
Perform routine support equipment inspections and maintains and performs necessary corrective actions to include unscheduled maintenance.
Operate assigned aerospace ground support equipment as required. Selects appropriate tools and equipment required to complete assignments.
Comply with all company, OSHA and customer safety regulations.
Record all inspection /maintenance actions using logbooks, computer terminals or other means as required.
Follow all safety procedures and practices as established by the Company.
Repair, rework and replace components or parts of CFSE to ensure proper operation.
Assure that all required forms and documents are properly filled in and signed after maintenance work completion.
Load and download aircraft weapons systems.
Job requirements
Be able to commute to San Antonio, Texas
A&P License required
Active US federal government security clearance (ability to obtain one)
Experience with turboprop and jet aircraft
A minimum of 4+ year of jet aircraft experience
2+ years demonstrated experience as an A&P Mechanic with no violations
Clean driving record
Travel within the US
Ability to remain calm in high paced environments
Good communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Pass a drug screening test
A successful candidate if preferred to have the following experience:
Experience working on the Tucano and/or Hawk aircraft.
PT6 Experience
Turboprop experience
Military aviation background
Valid US Passport
Willingness to travel
